How You Love Me

When I think about how much you love me, one word comes to mind. Before I tell you what that word is, let me expound on how I came to think of your love in this way. I look back and realize how much you have loved me, you have been so deliberate in your... Continue Reading →

Cozy

Cozy is snuggling up in an oversized comforter wearing a hoodie and fluffy socks. It is that warm thing felt in the heart as we share a cup of hot cocoa. It is listening to the crackles coming from the fireplace while being nestled within your arms. It is your breath. It is making memories... Continue Reading →

A Treasured Vessel

This poem was birthed from a place of seeing my own imperfection. In seeing my own imperfections the Holy Spirit put this on my heart, "This imperfect vessel is his majesty’s delight." When we begin to realize who lays claim to us and to whom we belong, then the imperfections become perfect. Keep it close to heart; in order to build any relationship, we must give it time and care, the same goes for our relationship with the Holy Spirit. Once we received the Holy Spirit it was done deal, it is up to us to keep the fire alive in us as we grow more intimately with Him.

A Prelude To A Story: An Open Page

A Prelude To A Story: An Open Page A glimpse of the past, with a higher calling. Her battle begun in a realm she didn’t understand. Conceived through two heroin addicted souls battling life and the struggles of their own demons. With the battle underway, she came into this world with love in her heart... Continue Reading →

“You Mean Something to Me”

The diamond in the rough, Here is a poem I dusted off and revised, “Something to Me” is now “You Mean Something to Me.” With maturity and time grinding away the old. Love can have many meanings. The first version also included a statement, keep this in mind: ARE THERE SILENT RULES OR DO WE MAKE... Continue Reading →

Cause and Effect

Every action, thought, and feeling is motivated by intentions.  Therefore, the intention is the cause, that exists as one with an effect. If we participate in the cause; then we participate in the effect. In the most profound way, we are held responsible for our every action, thought, and feeling, which is to say, for our every intention. Bringing... Continue Reading →

What is Love?

Self reflection allows for growth and a fresh prospective. Taking a look back at some of my older posts on social media, I found this from Valentines Day 2012. Someone posted, what is love? Here is a look at that post. -Always Delilah What is love? It is something we are born with, in our spirit, which needs... Continue Reading →

Gracious

What would your love letter or poem resemble? Here is my poem, to the Lover of my life. For, He has loved me from before the beginning of time. -Always Delilah Irrevocably I'm drawn closer to You, where all grace is fulfilled. How gracious is your love? Now, I can see You in the flesh, manifested. Moreover in... Continue Reading →

Naively

This poem truly reflects my heart. To love naively, is to love unaffected in it's simplest form. As we walk and partake on this plain we become jaded by people places and things. The God living inside of us, doesn't. His love is eternal and forgives all. We possess this type of love as well,... Continue Reading →

Is Life Cruel

Is life cruel was written in 2004 after I realized how much we give away when we decide to enter a relationship for the wrong reasons. As a woman, female, and lady can relate to the lashes we receive from giving love away freely. Sex is so much more than the act. It was meant... Continue Reading →

Deception

If I had a dilemma Deception would be her name How dubious is her smile Cunning is her touch Palatable sensation drew me in Flattering words persuade my heart My perception blurred Senses stirred Enchanted by deception Who knew her blemishes would remain. Photo By Delilah Futrell

Stepping Out on Love

The moment nears Just ever closer When taking, a motion, a notion To step Out on the rope Of safety and transparency Vulnerably releasing the grasp of old comforts Welcoming the uplifting guidance of new steps To step out on love -Always Delilah Photos by Delilah Futrell

An Inner Turbulence

Since the beginning, humans have had an inner battle; it is the warring of the flesh and the spirit. It is undeniable that we are spiritual beings and our bodies are the vessels that contain it. I have had many occasions in which I have fought this battle. I still fight today, although, I fight from... Continue Reading →

Knowing You

Knowing You is a poem I wrote in 2009. The inspiration came from an artist I met, and later grew into a beautiful friendship. He has a gift for stirring the gifts inside us with his music. Here is knowing you. Knowing you, I write all night Word floating in my mind Rushing to meet the pen caressing the paper... Hello world!

Someone once told me, "The best lessons learned; are those of borrowed experience." Throughout our lives, we learn lessons; these lessons carry us along our journey. Therefore, we can choose to learn from them or relive them. Embracing the lessons is key to growth in life. Some things we go through will be uncomfortable and can seem unnecessary, nevertheless,...
